Māturu Earrings
Description
He taonga nō te whenua, he kōrero nō te ngākau.
Māturu — A Drop of Connection
Inspired by the gentle movement of water, Māturu captures the beauty of a single droplet and the deeper connections we carry with us.
In te reo Māori, māturu refers to dripping or falling in drops, making it a fitting name for these delicate earrings.
Featuring a suspended pounamu drop, Māturu draws inspiration from the natural world and the enduring relationship between whenua, wai and whakapapa.
Water connects our landscapes, nourishes our whenua and sustains life. Like a single droplet, even the smallest things can carry profound meaning.
The pounamu represents our connection to the whenua, our tūpuna and the stories that shape who we are.
Māturu is more than an adornment. It is a reminder that wherever life takes us, we carry our connections with us
The hoops measure 3 × 9 mm, with a small attachment loop for the suspending pounamu droplet.

Design
Design Kōrero | Aho Collective
Each Aho Collective piece is thoughtfully designed to honour strength, connection, and everyday wear.
Our jewellery is crafted using high-quality stainless steel, chosen for its durability, hypoallergenic properties, and resistance to tarnishing. This makes our pieces suitable for daily wear while maintaining their form and finish over time.
Where included, pounamu is used with care and intention. Pounamu is a taonga within te ao Māori, valued for its strength, mana, and deep cultural significance. Each stone is unique in colour and pattern, reflecting its natural origin. No two pieces are the same.
Together, these materials represent balance — modern durability paired with ancestral significance — creating jewellery that carries both story and presence.
